About this rpoject
Associations

This research project, which employed visionary thinking to gather critical knowledge about Heatwaves in Scotland, culminated in a 'Future Artefact'- a 2050 edition of The Braemar Chronicle, a small-town newspaper from Braemar, Scotland.

Set in a world where the effects of climate change subtly shape daily life, the newspaper captures how this traditionally cool region is adapting to a warmer climate. Through articles that discuss everything from mandatory hydration stations and shifts in bird migration patterns to late-season agriculture and community events, the paper paints a vivid picture of resilience and continuity. The Chronicle reflects the community’s ability to uphold its traditions while innovating in response to new environmental realities. Designed to be realistic yet forward-thinking, this artefact serves as a creative narrative on how local cultures might evolve in the face of global climate challenges. It’s a subtle, immersive glimpse into a future where adaptation is woven into the fabric of everyday life.
